GROUPE D'ÉTUDES ISO SIX SIGMA - ORLANDO (USA)
French: L'intermeeting du groupe SC7 (Application des statistiques à la méthode Six Sigma) s'est tenu en Janvier 2011 à Orlando, ville importante de l'état de Floride (USA). Ci dessous le résumé des résultats de cette réunion.
English: The SC7 intermeeting (Application of statistics for the Six Sigma method) hold in January 2011 at Orlando, important city of the state of Florida (USA). Below are the main points coming from this meeting.

The documents :
- Quantitative methods in process improvement - Six Sigma -
Part 1 : DMAIC method
- Quantitative methods in process improvement - Six Sigma -
Part 2 : Tools and techniques
have been updated from the numerous comments (More than
200) received during the DIS voting procedure. Countries such as
United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Czech Republic, France,
China, India...have contributed to those comments.

These documents are to become ISO
standards in a near
futur. |
The main updates are :
For Part 1:
- changes in the ranking of Black and Green Belt competencies
levels,
- reduction of the number of mandatory tools for DMAIC
cycle,
- sponsor and champion more invloved in the DMAIC project
management (milestone approvement, budget consumption
checking...)
For Part 2:
- strengthen the factsheet about Kano Model,
- state the correct relation between House of Quality and
Quality Function Deployment,
- details the description of some Six Sigma
metrics,
- strengthen the coherence between part 1 and 2
These two documents are going for FDIS ballot.
Response Surface Methodology (RSM) :
The document was renamed by "Selected illustration of
Response Surface methodology - Part 1 : Central Composite Designs". It is
to become an ISO Technical Report (TR).
Some issues shall be solved with:
- reformulating the objectives of the experiment (identify
factors, shape of response, optimize...),
- detailing how to handle the independance of factors (what to
do when 2 factors are not independant ?).
Selected illustration of Contingency tables
:
This new subject is to drive to the publication of an ISO/TR
(ISO/TR 16705) on Table of Contingency.

New Works Items on the launching platform
:
Benchmark methodology for Six Sigma was
confirmed as needed by the Six Sigma community. No improvement method can do
without a benchmark step that states the quality performance. The benchmark
method is to established the good practices so that the result of a benchmark
are accepted by all stakeholders (managers, sponsor, master black
belt...).
